The Village's water system contains no known lead service lines. This is due to the fact that the Village is a relatively 'young' municipality and our water system was developed and grew long after lead was no longer generally used for service laterals.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Federal Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) went into effect in 2021. Under the LCRR, all public water systems (PWS) in Wisconsin must submit an initial Service Line Materials Inventory to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) by Oct. 16, 2024. In addition to submitting an initial Service Line Materials Inventory to the DNR, all public water systems must make their inventories publicly accessible.
Although the Village system contains no known lead service lines, our staff regularly collects data and updates our records when there are opportunities for field verification; through meter changes/maintenance, cross-connection inspections, construction projects or any other means of verifying materials.
