The Village of Belleville offers residents the ability to add a deduct meter to their home to measure the amount of water used outside the home (for lawn watering, pool filling, etc.) that does not go into the sanitary sewer system. There is a $250.00 one-time charge before installation, and $4.08 per month of continued service.
Terms
- The minimum service contract period shall be one year.
- The meter is owned by the Village and will be placed by utility staff.
- The meter must be located after the primary water meter (within 2ft of the primary meter).
- The customer is responsible for providing the proper plumbing for the additional water meter for one outside faucet. All hose connections must have backflow preventors.
- The meter shall be located so that it is protected from obstructions and permits ready access for reading, inspection, and servicing.
- The repair of any damage to the meter resulting from the carelessness or negligence of the owner, owner's agent, or tenant shall be the financial responsibility of the owner of the premises.
- If the meter is removed, there will be a reconnection charge of $250.00.
- When the premises are to be vacated, or there is a change in ownership of the premises, the utility shall be notified at once.
- If an emergency would be declared, you must be abide by the rule and orders of utility staff.
