2026 marks Belleville's 175th Anniversary! Celebrate with us all year long as many of our annual events incorporate the anniversary into their celebrations. The Arts & Culture committee invites you, residents, businesses, events and visitors to join us by sharing and/or using the logo for your own 175th celebrations!
The Arts & Culture Committee is proud to announce the official release of a new suite of limited-term logos celebrating the Village’s 175th Anniversary. Formally accepted by the Village Board on March 16, 2026, these designs honor Belleville’s rich history while providing local organizations with a unified way to showcase community pride.
The anniversary collection features three distinct marks, each designed to capture different elements of the Village’s heritage:
- The 175th Anniversary Mark: Features arching "Belleville" typography with the milestone years 1851–2026 and a prominent "175 Years" designation.
- The Legacy Mark: A versatile version featuring the same arched typography but with the phrase "Since 1851." This timeless design is intended for use well beyond the anniversary year.
- The Heritage Badge: A circular logo rich with "hidden" symbolism. The outer ring represents the railroad tracks that drove early economic growth; the middle ring honors the mill wheels of the Sugar River; the octagonal inner ring signifies the historic octagon-shaped schoolhouse; and the stylized "B" sits atop a wave representing the Sugar River.
The logos were contributed pro bono by Randy Gunter, a national award-winning graphic designer and head of Gunter Communications. A local business owner, Gunter operates his marketing firm on River Street alongside his wife, Cindy, owner of Sugar River Trading Company.
How to Use the Logos
Local businesses, non-profits, and community groups are encouraged to incorporate these marks into their own materials. The complete logo package, which includes a comprehensive Usage Guide, is available for immediate download
