The Village of Belleville has a strong planning process for the community. The Village provides in house planning services, zoning enforcement and building inspection with a small but dedicated staff.
The Village has many planning documents that guide its development. The Comprehensive Plan is the overall planning guide for the community. Sub-plans, like the Parks and Open Space Plan and Facility Needs Assessment, provide additional details to guide development. In addition to the planning goals of the community, the Village also utilizes several documents to guide and shape how developments will look and feel. Those documents include the Downtown Design Standards, Land Division and Development Code, Zoning Code, Master Land Use Map, Border Agreement, and Development Requirements.
