The Village of Belleville collects taxes for six (6) taxing jurisdictions: the State of Wisconsin, Dane County, Green County, Belleville School District, Madison College (aka Madison Area Technical College), and the Village of Belleville. Residents can expect to receive their tax bills in early to mid-December. Because of the deductibility of property tax on federal income taxes, many property owners pay the entire bill by December 31st.
Real estate tax payments are made at Village Hall through January 31st. Real estate property taxes are payable in full by January 31st, or the first installment as shown on your tax bill by January 31st. The remaining balance, or second installment, is paid to the Dane County Treasurer or Green County Treasurer, depending on which county you reside in. All real estate property taxes made after January 31st must go to the office of the County Treasurer.
