Emergency Management Committee

The Emergency Management Committee becomes the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during an emergency situation. The EOC is a central command and control system responsible for carrying out the principles of emergency preparedness and emergency management, or disaster management, at a strategic level during an emergency and ensuring the continuity of operations of the Village.

Composition

The Emergency Management Committee consists of eleven (11) members, of whom at least three (3) members shall always be citizen members who are not Village officials. The Village President appoints citizen members, who are subject to the confirmation of the Village Board for a term of two years. The Village Trustee(s) are appointed annually by the Village Board. The Belleville School District1 and the Belleville Chamber of Commerce2 each have a representative.
