Economic Development and Tourism Committee

The Economic Development & Tourism Committee advises the Village Board on the following programs & initatives:

• Attracting new businesses and the retention of existing businesses to help them grow and expand.
• Partnering with other economic development agencies and organizations.
• Pursing grants, agency funding, and contributions that benefit the Village of Belleville.
• Promoting enhancements that improve the Belleville area.
• Communicating the importance and benefits of development in all businesses, outside governmental sectors, and citizens in the Village of Belleville.

Composition

The Economic Development & Tourism Committee consists of nine (9) members, of whom seven (7) shall be citizen members who are not village officials. The Village President appoints citizen members, who are subject to the confirmation of the Village Board for a term of two years. The Village Trustee(s) are appointed annually by the Village Board. The Belleville School District_¹ and the Belleville Chamber of Commerce_² each have a representative on the EDTC.
